 The latest application which I have reviewed is Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 speech recognition software and I must say that the makers of this fine software are living up to their claims. They tote up to 99% accurate in 3 times faster than typing. I had a hard time believing that considering Im not a bad typist. I must admit that after testing the service for the last week I am quite impressed. Out-of-the-box the application performed amazing without the need to even go through the training. It wasn't until hours into using the application that I decided to do additional training. Certain words (unusual names or slang) cause the application to choose similar sounding words however after doing additional training for each of those words in question, the application has become very intuitive uses the appropriate spelling accordingly.
I decided to review the "preferred" version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 speech recognition software ($199.99 CDN) and despite the price; it has lived up to its reputation.
The headphones which come with the program are very good and produce awesome results when used with other applications (example: Skype).
It was a weird transition speaking to my computer and having it take note what I say. The application is so good at recognizing what I say that in fact it actually catches errors with words I say and helps my pronunciation in certain cases.
I find it's great in order to quickly get an idea out of your head and onto the screen but ideally you may still wish to keep your hands on the keyboard to make adjustments and add special symbols. It is not necessary however.
In my opinion this software has delivered exactly what it promises and is worth every penny.
Perhaps the people at Nuance Communications Inc. will offer our viewers a coupon to try. Or better yet, perhaps they will offer a few copies of their application which we can offer to her viewers free of charge.
I will be sure to send them a copy of the review and let you all know what I hear back.

The latest release from our Russian friends finds itself in the spot light again. This time, beating out all competitors across the board, Kaspersky is the quiet giant breaking into North America. I expect to see some very intersting things from the guys.
If you haven't tried it yet, test drive for a month.
When asked to register, google 'kaspersky coupon code' for instant savings. It's not 100% free, but it is the best.
For those of you who use dual monitors or those who occasionally plug a secondary monitor into your laptop, then this is the app for you...
Back in January the great guys over at Realtime Soft released UltraMon™ 3.0 Beta 2.1 (3.0.2) and I have never looked back.
You can setup profiles (for those laptop users) to easily switch between custom configuations, including a smart taskbar, custom shortcuts, individualized desktop walpapers and screen savers.
It's a small app that carries a big punch. I highly recommend this (even in beta).

OK, now before I begin I must warn you that I am not a big fan of online chat services. I believe they have become a form of necessary evil providing yet another means by which we can communicate. Ok, now that I have had my moment, I must admit that this new google app is pretty cool.
It's not hard to get started. You can communicate and express yourself using avatars in your very own space.

The only issue I have found with the browser so far is a problem when printing.. special characters are printed in place of the standard character set.
I am hoping this is fixed soon.

As quickly as beta 4 hit the street, it was replaced... Firefox 3 Beta 5 hit the streets this week and has responded with some fixes which make this already decent browser that much better. Those who are participating in the beta test have responded quickly and the developers are listening.
We here at 'Best 100 Tools' are egerly awaiting the final release for Firefox 3. At this rate we should probably see something very soon.

What can we say but WOW!!! This latest version of the popular browser can finally say they are again number one. This latest release provides many enhancements and features which build on the previous builds and is stable enough to use daily.
Over the last few days we have been testing it and already it's becoming a favorite. We are looking forward to the official release so developers can settle on a platform to code on. Unfortunately, the plugin's are add-on's are not supported with the beta release, however the speed of which the browser generates pages (almost 3 times as fast) makes us giddy with anticipation...
So far we have seen no significant bugs or issues and are excited to see the end result.

Why limit the selection to Only 100 Titles?
To be honest, I am sure this directory will grow quickly beyond 100 categories, but I do not think this is a bad thing.
I originally feared that the domain name itself may be a limiting factor in the successful execution of this website, but I remain optomistic that the BEST100TOOLS.COM domain name will be "easy to remember".
Additional updates to the system backend as well as the new website layout are almost completed. I was having some minor issues with the database however it turned out that my CSV file was corrupt and I was using it to populate the tables (not knowing that the files were in the wrong order and incomplete... basically, the output was corrupt and screwed up the layout by displaying the wrong information within the cells.
I know now what the problem is, however I am way too tired to work on it this minute. Keep your eyes open for the next flavor of this website. Give me a couple of minutes... :)
